Congaree moves temporarily to virtual instruction

WEST COLUMBIA, SC -- Students at Congaree Elementary will move temporarily from in-person classes to virtual learning for Thursday, December 17, and the half day on Friday, December 18, before the start of winter break.

This move is necessary, because the number of school staff testing positive for COVID-19 and/or in quarantine for identified close contact with a positive case exceeds 10 percent, and creates a hardship in school operations.

Families may order student meals online for Thursday and Friday by logging on at PayPams.com and following instructions. If you need additional help, contact food services at (803) 739-8381. Families also may order free meals for pickup over the winter break by following instructions at PayPams.com or going to this link: https://www.lex2.org/apps/news/article/1347366

We know this will be a hardship for some of our families, but we are committed to maintaining safety protocols we've put into place. Congaree families should receive further instructions about the instructions for virtual learning from their child’s teachers or from school administrators.

Congaree students are scheduled to return to in-person, face-to-face classes on Monday, January 4.
