WEST COLUMBIA, SC – Lexington Two will have an eLearning day on Monday, October 14, to make up for the missed instructional day on August 8 due to then-Tropical Storm Debby.
Teachers are preparing students for the eLearning day. You’ll find flyers on eLearning from the Home and our technology help desk here. Students’ assignments will be posted, and teachers will be available during virtual office hours, as outlined in our eLearning from the Home flyer.
By law, every South Carolina school district must designate three weather makeup days in its annual academic calendar.
October 14 is Lexington Two’s first designated weather makeup day on the 2024-2025 academic calendar, and it will be an eLearning day, which is allowable by the State Department of Education eLearning Days District Handbook. We first communicated in August with staff and families that October 14 would be eLearning, and then again in September and early October, so we are following through with that plan.
However, we will plan to make up our other two missed instructional days for closure during Helene – September 30 and October 1 – as in-person instructional days, likely on the calendar’s remaining designated weather makeup days of February 17 and March 17. Should that change, we will share that with you.
